There are three modes of play: You Create Mode, Follow-Me Mode, and Sing-a-Rainbow Mode. In You Create Mode, the child simply holds one of the colour pots over the mixing pot and listens as Mr Colour Maker says hello to the colour – "Hello Red, how are you?" – while the mixing pot magically turns to that colour. Use the magical colour brush to mix the colours together and listen as Mr Colour Maker tells you what colour you have made – "Well done; you coloured me green!" In Follow Me Mode, Mr Colour Maker asks the child to make colours, starting with simple primary colours and then moving onto mixed colours, correcting the child if they get it wrong three times. In Sing-a-Rainbow Mode, simply use the brush to make Mr Colour Maker come to life and sing his wonderful colour song whilst the colours shine from the pot.
